About Us

I am a very happy camper and I hope that you are too! If you are a camper, we want you to feel free to share your experiences, share recipes and the best way you have found to relax. Just click on the camping blog link on the left. Feel free to post any comment about camping or maybe you have something special you want to share. Let all your camping friends know about our site and we all can get great information from each other.

Tell us about your State Parks?

We want information on State Parks. Tell us about your favorite or not so favorite State Park. Tell us the nightly fees, what is there to do? What are the facilities like, etc. I think you get my drift.

This is a family site

I probably don't have to tell anyone, but I just want to make sure that everyone knows. PLEASE this is a family site, lets not offend anyone with a bad choice of words or comments.

Who Are We?

We are the Bargers from Northern Indiana. I would tell you the city but it is just easier to say, we are from the Notre Dame Fighting Irish area. (yes, the dome really is covered with real gold) It does get quite cold here in the winter and since my wife and I don't like the cold, we don't camp during the winter months. Needless to say, we await anxiously for the warm freshness of spring each year.

How long have we been camping?

My wife and I have been married since 1994, and have been camping together ever since. My wife grew up camping with her family and as for me, I didn't start camping until I was 25. I started out primitive camping and just loved it. I had just got over a divorce the year before and was learning to enjoy solitude and experiencing the wonders of nature I had always taken for granted. We started out tent camping and then as the years pass and our bodies felt more aches and pains, we moved up to a pop up to get us off the ground. We enjoyed our pop up for many years but grew tired of the amount of time it took to setup. So we hunted around, talked with other RV owners and found a camper we both could enjoy together. We have camped in many different states, stayed at different private campgrounds but found that State Parks usually offer more amenities and cleaner restrooms for a cheaper rate. We have had so many great experiences camping and have met so many different people that it just would not be a good year without short and long camping trips.
