Informative camping
When I told our friends and family that we were going to start a website devoted to camping, we had comments like: “what are you selling?” “What is the site for?” “Why would you put in so much work and get nothing out of it?” The answers to these questions can be answered pretty easily. First of all, we are not selling you or asking you to buy anything. Through the many years of camping and talking with many other campers, I have been able to share and learn about many different tidbits about camping. As a matter of fact, one year we had been thinking about buying a travel trailer that would take very little effort and time to set up. We had a small pop-up at the time and setup and take down took us on the average of 1 hour and 45 minutes. We wanted something that we could pull into our campsite get setup, relax and start enjoying our camping trip. On this particular camp outing,our site was next to an older couple with a hi-lo camper. We were intrigued about the camper to say the least and my wife (never shy) went over and talked with couple about their unique hi-lo travel trailer. This couple was so gracious and very pleasant to talk with they invited us in to take a tour of their camper and explained to us their pros and cons of owning one. Needless to say, by the next camping season, we were enjoying our new hi-lo camper. We have no regrets of owning our hi-lo, I get great gas mileage when pulling it and we are set up and enjoying camping in less than 30 minutes! That is even including setting up our screen house!!
What is this site for?
We are campers, and weekend warriors. Because both of us need to work, most of our camping trips are mostly quick weekend getaways. We try at least once a year, plan a camping trip of a week or more that will take us to a different state and enjoy some of what that state has to offer. We have had wonderful and memorable experiences staying at different state parks in the US and we just want to share those experiences with other campers. We also hope by providing a blog that we can also learn of new, exciting and interesting places to camp at through out the United States. There are also many helpful hints that you learn while camping and owning an RV. I will share some of these in the blog and hope that you will join too with your helpful hints. We all can benefit from each other with this kind of information and we hope your next camping trip will be the best.
Why would I put so much work into a web site and get nothing out of it.
Frankly, if all I got was one person who gave me information about a State Park or any campground for that matter, weather they had good experience or told us to avoid a park, then I have already received something out of this web site. For this reason, I added a blog to this site. We hope to get many comments, experiences, great places and not so great places to go camping. The more information that is available from other campers the better camping will be for all of us. I realize that opinions on where to go, experiences from other campers are going to be different, but that is the beauty of having a blog. Weather your opinion is a cheer or a jeer of a certain campground or State Park, your information can be very helpful to all fellow campers.
